The idea for the Ocean Girl Project Sustainable Surf Camp began on a beautiful wave in the sea and stirred the hearts and minds of a small group of local female surfers.
Our intention, to share with young girls our love of the ocean through surfing, water safety, sustainable practices and mutual respect for land, sea and each other.
After several great surf sessions (I mean meetings) we agreed to transform the dream to reality. We committed to working hard, volunteering, asking for help from other surfers, volunteers and local community.
We believed we could one day, not only host a sustainable surf camp, but also make it available to girls who didn’t have funds to attend a camps.

While the surf camp is run by volunteers and many things are donated, there are still a variety of essential and practical things that have to be paid for ie: liability insurance, gas, and food.
We could not offer this to girls in Hawaii without the community’s support.
Ocean Girl gratefully accepts contributions to pay for girls to attend surf camps.

Ways everyone can help:
Sponsor a week at camp for a girl by giving a financial contribution.
Donate gently used gear such as surf boards, rash guards, leashes, we always need unused gear such as surf wax, reusable water bottles, visors or caps, organic/reef safe sunscreen, etc ( drop off at Surf Garage, or we can pick up)

Volunteer at a fund-raiser or camp
Kids can wash family cars, offer to walk the dog, ask a family member to match your fund-raising efforts. Recycle plastic bottles!!
